We started Taste With Purpose because home cooking shouldn’t require permission. Linda and Sofia kept making incredible food in their actual kitchens, but felt like frauds serving it to people. One Tuesday night, they realized the real barrier wasn’t technique—it was confidence. So we built this space to prove that bold flavors, international cuisine, and culinary confidence belong in every home kitchen, not just professional ones.
Real flavor. Honest failures. Accessible techniques. Community over competition.
We launched in April 2026. We’re brand new, still figuring things out as we go, and genuinely excited about building this with you.
Linda Sandra — Founder & Global Recipe Explorer
Linda spent five years living and cooking across Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, and Latin America before moving to Austin. She holds a certification in culinary nutrition from the Institute of Culinary Education. She’s not a celebrity chef or a famous food writer—she’s a home cook who got obsessed with understanding how real people cook real food in real kitchens across the world.
Austin-based spice hoarder whose pantry organization system is basically “organized chaos” with the most-used jars closest to eye level. She still burns things regularly and considers it research.
Why She Started This
“I spent years traveling before realizing the real skill wasn’t perfect technique—it was permission. Permission to play with flavors, fail beautifully, and cook like you actually belong in the kitchen. That’s what we’re building here.“

Every recipe we publish has been tested multiple times in our real kitchens. We measure success by “would a tired parent make this on a Tuesday night?”—not by how it looks in a photo. We document failures. We explain the “why” behind techniques. We’re honest about what works and what doesn’t.
We’re brand new, which means we’re still learning how to do this well. We’ll make mistakes. We’ll get better. And we genuinely want your feedback as we figure it out.
